Afghanistan won the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2009/2010 for the first time and the first year of their participation with a commanding seven-wicket victory against Scotland in Dubai. Mohammad Shahzad guided the pursuit of 124 with an unbeaten 56 after Scotland had been skittled for 82. Scotland made 212 all out in their first inings when Afghanistan reached 171 all out in the first innings. The second innings of scotland finished when they made 82 all out. Hamid Hasan, Samiullah Shenwari and Mirwais Ashraf each took 3 wicket to outclass the scotland in 82 runs all out. Afghansitan started their second innings with a better start and they reached the target with a 3 wicket loss. 56 run of Mohammad Shahzad unbeaten give Afgahanistan a victory over scotland in their second innings. Scotish players were looking very hard to take wickets earlier but they couldnt. Over all Afghanistan's Performance was outstanding in this tournament where they even didnt lose one match except one draw. Afghansitan also finished top in the points table.
